Holes
Have you ever felt like going off to camp, was like the end of the world?? Well In the book Holes, written by Louis Sacher. In the book Louis was trying to get a crossed the message that never giving up is good, because if you just stick with what your supposed to be doing, you’ll get through it ok. So yea, well this boy Stanley gets in trouble, and gets caught with something that he shouldn’t be caught with, it was a pair of expensive basketball shoes, then he gets shipped off to Camp Green Lake witch really isn’t a camp its more of a young adult labor place. Well now he’s at camp green lake, and he’s doing what he needs to be doing, then him and zero find this chest that has all this gold in it, well the warden tries to steel the chest but she gets poisoned with snake veining, then after all the him, zero, armpit and x- ray all get to come home for the rest of the summer.
There are to main characters in this book, and they are… Stanley, he’s a teen that’s a good kid then he gets in trouble with the shoes. But Stanley is a very laid back, humble nervous and shy teen. He showed the theme never give up, very well I thought because he did his time, and got out, he always did what he had to do no mater what the circumstances were. Then, there’s the other main character Zero, he’s a teen that cant read and Stanley teaches him how to. Zero is also a very quiet, laid back kind of person,. And does what need to be done. He often had people take advantage of him because he was so good at digging hole. I think he dug like 25 holes a days all by himself…
I agree with the theme because nvr give up is a good thing to do because there was this time that I really just wanted to give up on everything becuse nothing was going rite, and it was way to much stree on me to deal with it all. But then i relized life is filled with surprised some good some bad but never giving up is good because if you make it thrught the tough time, your just making your slef stronger by making it throgh it. Partically life is full of things that you or anybody would love to give up, but the will power tell you not to.
In Louis Sachar's book Holes, the character were very believeable because they seemed like any normal teen, they loved to have fun, and hang out, and whatever teens do. and they had human emotions, like Zero was rly shy, and soo was Stanley when he got to camp Green Lake. and the theme Never give up, is a good one for the book because the characters never gave up through out the book.
